On the Scent — Rita at Serra da Pescaria

Rita found it before I did — the purple flower half-hidden in the long grass, the patch of meadow that smelled of something worth investigating. She always does. Walking Serra da Pescaria with her is a lesson in paying attention: there is beauty in the rough ground, in the unmanicured edges, in the places you only notice if you're close to the soil and moving slowly. This is spring on the serra, seen from dog height.
